Cannabics Pharmaceutical Inc. (OTCMKTS:CNBX) Releases RCC-33 In-Vivo Study Results Showing Its Extends Survival Rate In Mice With CRC

Published

on

Cannabics Pharmaceutical Inc. (OTCMKTS:CNBX) has released concluding results for its in-vivo study evaluating the efficacy of its novel drug candidate RCC-33 in extending the survival rate in mice injected with human colorectal cancer cells.

RCC-33 shows the potential to prolong the survival rate in mice with colorectal cancer

The study results show a 35% prolonged survival rate in the mice inoculated with colorectal cancer cells and exposed to RCC-33 compared to the control group. Interestingly, the mean survival rate witnessed in the experimental group was 31 days from the start of the treatment against 23 days in the sham control group, reflecting a 35% survival rate increase in the treatment cohort.

Interestingly, the combination of these latest results with previously reported 33% tumor volume reduction in the RCC-33 exposed group supports RCC-33’s promising potential as part of the armamentarium treatment against colorectal cancer. The company expects to schedule a pre-IND meeting with the US FDA in the next quarter to commence Phase 1/2a trials at the start of 2022.

Cannbics™ RCC-33 first antitumor formulation

The company’s CEO and Co-founder, Eyal Barad, said that Cannabics ™ RCC-3 is the first novel antitumor formulation Cannabics Pharmaceuticals has released for in-vivo testing. Barad said that they released this out of a growing pipeline of additional antitumor drug candidates currently working. He said that the company’s aim with RCC-33 is to assist the large and growing patient number and help fulfill a significant unmet medical need in a market estimated to be worth $10 billion.

Cannabics Pharmaceuticals COO and President Gabriel Yariv said that colorectal cancer accounts for around 10% of all cancers globally, with almost 1.8 million new cases diagnosed each year. Yariv said that colorectal cancer is among the most lethal cancer types accounting for over 550,000 deaths annually. He added that almost 65% of colorectal cancer patients will have a survival rate of five years or longer, thus creating an opportunity for RCC-33 to become part of a treatment regime.
