Curaleaf Holdings Inc (OTCMKTS:CURLF) Acquires Two Businesses In Arizona In Line With Its Expansion Plan

Published

on

Curaleaf Holdings Inc (OTCMKTS:CURLF) Announced towards the end of June that it signed two different acquisitions in Arizona for a total of $25.5 million.

The company revealed that it struck an acquisition deal for a cannabis cultivation and processing business called Glendale Greenhouse. The company plans to rebrand the newly acquired business as Curaleaf as soon as the acquisition transaction is complete. The second acquisition involves a company called Phytotherapeutics Management Services which is licensed by Phytotherapeutics of Tucson, LLC.

Glendale Greenhouse will offer significant contribution as part of Curaleaf especially from its 20,000 square-foot facility that features a cultivation center whose annual production capacity is about 3,600 pounds. The facility which is strategically located near the Agua Fria Freeway also has room for expansion up to around 5,000 square feet. It also has a kitchen and a CO2 extraction facility.

Meanwhile, Curaleaf will use Phytotherapeutics’ license on its newly launched dispensary at 2175 N 83rd Avenue. The dispensary is also strategically located near the Ak-Chin Pavilion concert stadium, which means that it will potentially have a lot of customers.

The acquisition allowed Curaleaf to boost its footprint in Arizona

The two new acquisitions will bring Curaleaf’s total dispensary count in Arizona to eight, allowing it to better serve consumers that live in the state. It will also provide an opportunity to make the company’s products more popular, thus increasing its margins. Curaleaf now has the highest number of stores in Arizona out of any of the other cannabis firms that have their operations in the state.

“The acquisition of both Glendale Greenhouse and the opening of our 83rd Avenue location demonstrates our commitment to the Arizona market and to providing consumers with reliable and high-quality cannabis experience,” stated Curaleaf CEO Joseph Lusardi.

Lusardi also noted that the acquisitions will not only boost its position in the market through the seventh and eighth dispensaries in Phoenix. He believes it will also increase the company’s position in the market, allowing it to boost its processing capacities and also speed up its production, and distribution access the state. The two acquisitions were jointly valued at about $25.5 million, where $3.5 million was a stock deal and the rest was all cash.
