Emerald Health Therapeutics Inc (OTCMKTS:EMHTF) signed a pact to supply medical cannabis to Stenocare to meet the growing demand in International and Denmark markets. Both the firms will now work with the DMA (Danish Medicines Agency) to keep the products ready and get them approved for the Danish Medical Cannabis Pilot programme. They are yearning to get approval for THC oil, CBD oil, and THC + CBD oil.

Stenocare to meet the demand for new products

Chief Executive Officer of Stenocare, Thomas Skovlund Schnegelsberg, said the company carefully selected the new suppliers to supply medical cannabis to Danish patients complying with the Danish Medicines Agency’s requirements. He said Stenocare selected Emerald to supply medical cannabis because of its capabilities in the formulation, processing, cultivation, and testing. Stenocare is already supplying medical cannabis to pharmacies and hospitals. The company has several customers waiting for new products. Stenocare aims to meet this demand with the help of Emerald Health.

Helps to serve patients in Denmark

Chief Executive Officer of Emerald, Riaz Bandali, said the company is pleased with the accomplishments and professionalism of Stenocare in establishing the distribution channels to market medical cannabis in Denmark. It respects the trust reposed in Emerald in maintaining the standards and capabilities as a preferred supplier.

Emerald aims to meet the growing need for medical cannabis by improving production at the two manufacturing sites that recently received licenses. It also helps Stenocare to serve the patients in Denmark. Medical cannabis is legalized in Denmark on January 1, 2018. Therefore, physicians in Denmark can prescribe medical cannabis to patients.

Organic certification for cannabis production

Emerald Health announced the receipt of organic certification for the cannabis production for its British Columbia based outdoor cultivation area (12 acres), and two greenhouses (156,000 Sq. Ft) from Pro-Cert. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has accredited the Pro-Cert to offer third-party certification to COR (Canada Organic Regime). Riaz said the company designed the Vancouver operation to serve adult-use consumers and medicinal customers with organic products.

Reduces staff

Emerald has reduced the staff count by 65 (33% of the total workforce) since August 1, 2019, as part of the internal organization. The company has fired Chief Operating Officer – Sean Rathbone, and Chief Finance Officer – Rob Hill. However, the reorganization will not have any impact on cannabis production.
