Health Canada Awards Licenses For Hexo Corp (NYSE:HEXO)’s Belleville Centre Of Excellence, Sale Of Cannabis Edibles, Extracts, And Topicals

Health Canada has awarded a license for Hexo Corp (NYSE:HEXO)’s Center of Excellence in Ontario, sale of beverages, edibles, extracts, and cannabis topical, and for research. Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hexo, Sebastien St-Louis, said the research license allows the company to take its innovation to the next level. Hexo is committed to ensure consistent quality and meet the expectations of consumers.

Processing license

Hexo would use the processing license to test on dried and fresh material, oil, and seeds. The processing license also allows testing on live plants. R&D license allows the company to expand the scope of work on derivatives of cannabis and cannabis. Hexo would conduct R&D at its Development and Engineering Hubs, Vaughan and Montreal Innovation, and Belleville’s Center of Excellence.

The Cannabis Center of Excellence in Belleville has also received a license from Health Canada for its Phase 1. Retrofitted former distribution center – Space would house Fortune 500 companies eager to enter the cannabis business and Hexo. The distribution center can produce non-alcoholic beverages, vapes, cosmetics, and other edibles. It is situated in the proximity of Ontario’s primary shipping routes to quickly process and distribute the products and meet the commitments in Canada.

Robust revenues

Hexo reported robust revenues of 59.3 million CAD since the legalization of adult-use cannabis in Canada a year ago. Sebastien said he is optimistic that the multi-brand approach, re-evaluating the strain mix, focusing on customer demand, and the launch of innovative products would help the company to increase revenue and market share.

Launch of six cannabis beverage brands

A JV of Hexo and Molson Coors Canada – Truss Beverage Co would introduce six beverage brands in the nation. Truss would launch CBD infused spring water in December 2019. The company would unveil the drink: Flow Glow across the nation in December.

Ingredients of Flow Glow are natural spring water, grape extract, natural ingredients, organic blue agave, 10 mg of Cannabidiol, and flavors. Truss would offer Flow Glow in two flavors: Raspberry+Lemon, and Goji+Grape fruit. Chief Executive Officer of Truss, Brett Vye, said existing and new customers, who are of legal age, can explore cannabis wonders.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) says that the medical cannabis market in Australia is among those that are growing very fast today. The customer needs for medical-grade products within the Australian domestic Markets are burgeoning by the day.

VIVO’s focus is on the international markets, according to the company’s CEO Barry Fishman. On the other hand, MediPharm Labs, Asia Pacific, CEO Warren Everitt says they are optimistic about the rapid success of being able to convert all the present opportunities into a tangible, revenue-generating business.

Consumers within the Québec market will first have Chemdog and Grapefruit GG4, being the initial products the company will be launching.

Cutbacks on Canada’s recreational market

Over the years, the Canadian recreational market has been doing so well.
